Ed C’s 2004 track attendence summary

I didn’t make it to as many new tracks and new states as I hoped this year, but I still made out OK and did get one (expensive to get to) state that I didn’t plan on getting. Overall stats for 2004 are (approximately) 57 events at 30 different tracks (13 new) in 12 states (2 new) and 1 (new) province, in 2 countries (1 new). Read the rest of this entry »

Ruling goes against Western Springs Speedway

Phil, who lives in New Zealand, let me know on the AUTORACE e-mail list about a link to a TV news report informing me that a ruling goes against speedway.

I wish it were better news. I watched the news cast report and they said the World Series for the midgets in January is up in the air. Read the rest of this entry »

Looks like Western Springs Spedway in New Zealand is being held hostage by about 70 people. In an article that appeared in The New Zealand Herald, Peter Chatteris is telling people who moved next to a race track to deal with it. Read the rest of this entry »

According to the article, ISC “has its sights on completing a new facility there as early as 2009.” Read the rest of this entry »

LVS back working again

My site was down for a little over a day because of power and hardware problems with the machine it is hosted on. It seems to be working again. Hopefully, this extended outage won’t be repeated again. Overall, I’ve been happy with Redwood Virtual and I’d still recommend them, but it is a little frustrating that it took them over a day to get the hardware issue (a bad hard drive) fixed.

New Silver Crown Cars

United States Auto Club unvield the “next generation” Silver Crown racecar at the PRI Trade Show the other day. Overall it looks like a nice car but I don’t really care for all of the body work on the bottom. That part almost reminds me of a bumper car or go-kart at the amusement park. That said, I can understand why they are doing it, as I’m sure having the wheels more open is a bigger safety hazard and also would probably effect the stability at higher speeds.

At any rate, I’m looking forward to seeing what these cars can do on the bigger (1.5 mile) tracks in 2006. BTW: The dirt cars will keep the same specs as they currently have.
