Daytona 500

I sat home on the couch and watched the Daytona 500 Sunday. Overall it wasn’t a great race. It was a good race, but not great. Congratulations to Jeff Gordon for the win even if I’m not really a fan of his. At least it wasn’t another DEI car or, even worse, Kurt Busch. Most of the race was rather ho-hum. I was kind of hoping the ending would be ho-hum as that would mean Tony Stewart would have gotten the win. Great runs by Scott Riggs finishing 5′th and Kevin LePage finishing 9′th. It was also nice to see Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace running up front and getting top 10 finishes in what appears to be the last Daytona 500 for each.

I can understand why Tony Stewart was upset with Jimmy Johnson. I’m not saying any other driver wouldn’t have done the same thing, but Johnson could have caused a heck of a wreck with his blocking tactics.
