According to the The Sun Newspaper Online, someoen stole the wheels off of F-1 boss Bernie Ecclestone’s Mercedes while it was parked outside of his house. You’d think a guy worth £2.3billion could afford a garage.

DW’s big mouth at Atlanta
March 21st, 2005 — racing
Wow, did that loud mouth DW change his tune in the last half lap of the Nextel Cup race at Atlanta. For nine and a half of the last ten laps he was saying how Carl Edwards is over driving, should take it easy, doesn’t know what he’s doing, let his team mate by, back off, slow down, settle for second or third, blah, blah, blah… Continue reading →

Potomac Speedway, March 18 2005 (Track #120)
March 19th, 2005 — racing
Last night I went to Potomac Speedway in Budd’s Creek Maryland. This was the first time I was ever there for a race. Last year I stopped by the track on the way back from Richmond to see what it looked like. When I did check it out I saw a 1/3 mile dirt oval with high banks. At the time I knew I wanted to see a race at the track, so I figured I’d move it up on my hit list for this year. I had preciously taken Friday off from work to go to a concert, but do to unforeseen circumstances those plans were cancelled. So when I noticed Potomac was running their season opener, I had a new plan to get my first new track of the year (and first outdoor race of the season). Continue reading →

New Conferences Category
March 10th, 2005 — conferences, general, libraries, technology
I just added a new category on upcoming conferences of possible interest to those in the systems librarian world. The main reason why I decided to do this is so I can find them again and I haven’t found a good repository for this type of information. If you have anything you think I should know about let me know. I’m not really trying to be all inclusive, but as a faculty member I am interested in knowing about these type of conferences, especially before the call for papers are due.
