PAUCH JR. GEARS UP FOR A JAM-PACKED 2005 SEASON
FRENCHTOWN, NJ (MARCH 12, 2005) – Seventeen-year-old Billy Pauch Jr. has proven himself as a skilled driver on dirt tracks in the northeast in open-wheel competition, and after a 2004 season that included action in four different racing divisions, Pauch will be adding even more to his racing program.
“We’re going to focus our attention on Bridgeport this year,” Pauch stated. “It will be great to race with my dad again; it’s a big help to have him there. We ran together my first season at Big Diamond and really had a lot of fun.” Pauch’s Bridgeport schedule includes a full season of Friday Night DIRT Small Block action on the dirt 5/8’s oval in the Evernham Performance Parts/Mystic Screen Printing #15. “We found out our Big Diamond motor wasn’t going to be ready until halfway through the season and then Dave [Adams] approached me to be a part of the Young Guns Promotion and our team decided that our best move would be to go to Bridgeport. I’m going to miss running at Big Diamond. We had a lot of success up there.”
Pauch’s Saturday night plans include competition in the K&A Excavating #1 Super Stock at New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, NJ. “I ran in a few races in the Super Stock last year and had some pretty good runs in it. So we’re going to try and run some more races as my schedule allows,” said Pauch. Pauch’s schedule also includes select events in the Adams/Mica #1 ATQMRA Three-Quarter Midget as well as a limited schedule in the Rob Morris owned #111 Sportsman Modified.
Pauch’s local short-track career is making an exciting expansion towards a national level. Plans are set for late in the season to run select events on the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series in the Mucci/Matczak Racing Seals-It #99 as a team-mate to 2001’s Silver Crown Series Champion, Paul White. “They’re a pretty well-known team, so that’s exciting. They’ve given me a great opportunity; I just hope we can get the job done. There are some great drivers running the series and some great drivers that have come out of the Silver Crown Series to pursue bigger things. I just hope I can qualify well and run well in the races and we’ll see where it can go from there.”
