On Sunday, July 3′rd I headed back to Connecticut to see the NASCAR modified tour at Jack Arute’s Stafford Motor Speedway that was rained out on Memorial Day weekend. The gates were supposed to open at 2 PM, but apparently they opened early because of the number of people waiting to get in. I think that is a good thing and more tracks might want to consider it. On July 2′nd I went to the Super 600 Showdown race at Hill Valley Speedway in Orbisonia, Pennsylvania. This was a new track to me, and surprisingly the first race I’ve seen all year in Pennsy. The racing was outstanding, but the officiating was just the opposite. (more…)
On Thursday, June 30′th I went to see my first race of the year at Bridgeport Speedway located in Bridgeport NJ. The race was a one division show featuring the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. I think it is a good idea for tracks to have only one division when these touring series come in during the week. Most people have to work the next night and don’t want to stay at the track any more then needed. (more…)
