Microsoft Blasts Massachusetts’ New XML Policy 2005 September 5

I just read an interesting article about Massachusett’s decision to make documents comply to the OpenDocument standard. In the Information Week article Microsoft Blasts Massachusetts’ New XML Policy. Personally, I think this is a great move for the citizens of Massachusetts. All government documents should be in an open format standard to insure accessibility to all citizens (not just t hose who can afford expensive proprietary software) and using open standards also helps to ensure that the documents will be readable far into the future.
