No more airplane parts in ARDC! 2005 October 16
I just found some interesting news in an ARDC Midget Press Release. The release talks about an opportunity for racers in other divisions to test drive a midget, but buried in the release is some much more interesting news to me. Not that being able to drive a midget wouldn’t be interesting, but since I have never raced I doubt I’m eligible. But I digress… The two pieces of interesting news were 1) That ARDC will have a home track next year and that track will be Susquehanna Speedway Park, and 2) even more interesting is that all races next year will be with no wings! This is great news as I really like non-wing midget racing.
The press release didn’t say what day of the week they will run but last year Susquehanna mostly raced on Thursdays and Sunday nights. If that is when the midgets will race, I hope they run off a quick show or I won’t be able to attend many races at the ARDC home track because the almost three hour ride each way will make it tough to get to work the next day unless they finish early. ARDC will run “at least one race per month at Susquehanna Speedway Park, in addition to many other local tracks in PA, NJ and NY.” Talking about ARDC and racing at Susquehanna, the last race of the year for ARDC will be the last Saturday in October and it will be non-winged.
Just a quick follow-up. I asked about dates on the ARDC message board and it looks like the ARDC WINGLESS Midgets will be racing on eight Friday nights at Susky. While the exact dates aren’t all set yet, the opener will be on April 14. Looks like I have a track to go to on select Friday nights next year.
