		<description>Well said.  Perhaps Ex Libris is doing this with its URM but the library world needs fewer integrated library systems and support for more modularization.  Ideally the mixing and matching of components you describe above would be facilitated by a common, open, and documented datastore where components/modules from various vendors and open source projects could all be used along side each other without the hackery or the purchase of extra vendor &#039;APIs &#039; that is necessary in most cases today.</description>
